The crowd were great and we served a number of great drinks. Our ice cold bottles of Amstell went down a treat as did a number of our cocktails including our famous Reel Time White Russian. Also a number of Mojito’s and Moscow mules which we brought in special copper mugs to serve from. Nice we touch.

On the bar we had the Martin brothers , Steve and Paul, both cocktail bartenders of the highest standard and they made the bar service , despite being busy , look effortless and professional. Thanks guys. We also had Jordan and Naomi pulling the strings behind the scenes ensuring that the bar was well stocked, organised and tidy. Well done guys. Many thanks for your hard work.

We were given a 30 minute window to install 6 great event bars and in true fashion we were complete in 18 minutes. Think we should of maybe all chose a career in the military!

When you have a wedding party ranging from Geordies to Canadians and the wedding weekend is based in Scotland there is only one thing to do…….cocktails and highland games! We arrived at a rather wet Harburn House on a Friday afternoon with cabers, ponchos, cocktail shakers and a haggis, not a usual Friday but a fun filled day was ahead. We set up a mobile bar in one of the houses many grand rooms and prepared to start one of our signature cocktail masterclasses for 20 eager ladies. We taught the ladies how to make a range of classic cocktails, spoke in depth about the classics and most importantly ………drank the classics. As the ladies were giving their best Tom Cruise impression the men participated in a highland games led by our in house “heavy”. They were taught how to toss a caber, throw a hammer and most importantly how to throw a haggis at a whisky bottle! A fun filled day was certainly had.

There were some smartly dressed men and some elegantly dressed ladies when we hosted a cocktail party in the West of Glasgow for a birthday bash. We set up a bar and sold a wide variety of cocktails from sidecars to martinis! We even launched our new and exclusive Scottish Malt Whisky Society malt of the month which went down incredibly well with the gentlemen. A good night was had by the guests and by the staff, everyone leaving with a smile on their face!

Well, a busy July is over which brought many different events in lots of different venues. We look ahead now to August which brings with it the Edinburgh International Festival, late nights and a lot more weddings!

It’s all said and done, it’s reel, and it’s been fun!

Reel Time Bars were down in the Scottish Borders last weekend for a double header bar job.  On the Friday Judith Morton and Andrew Johnston were getting married in a marquee just outside Melrose.

On the Saturday, it happened to be the grooms brothers 29^th birthday.  With a marquee up anyway, it seemed a good excuse for another party.

Friday night was great night with the bar team doing a good job keeping up service for 100 thirsty borders boys. Mark, our bar manager, shook 100 cocktails alone, on top of the rest of the orders, and was looking somewhat jaded the next day. All in all it was a great day, and it was a pleasure serving the friendly crowd.  The Saturday night was similarly enjoyable (for us at least, few weary looking faces after the previous nights festivities)  and everyone drank and danced into the small hours.

Reel Time Bars provided one of our experienced mixologists to deliver a great Cointreau brand event at Tigerlily Edinburgh last Friday night.  Guests were shown a new range of Cointreau cocktails which are being promoted for summer 2011.  Cointreau the brand are promoting this with a great new marketing initiative, which lets groups of friends enjoy a cocktail masterclass in their own home. The event was topped off with 100 cointreau gift bags for lucky guests, containing some Cointreau, a shaker and a special branded cointreaupolitan glass.

Reel Time Bars were up in Grangemouth last weekend shaking up a storm at the local Town Hall.  They provided an occasional license for the event, a charity Sex in the City party.

200 of Grangemouths well heeled ladies turned out for a charity auction, fashion show, and a great function band,  while enjoying a selection of Reel Time Cocktails.  A few ladies were given an impromptu cocktail masterclass while they watched their drinks being made.

We are pleased to report that all 4 of the male bar team from the event made it back to Edinburgh in one piece.

April 2011 saw us entertain 72 Fire department managers from Airports all over the UK. Our whisky tasting was after a hearty Scottish dinner enjoyed by the delegates.  Reel Time whisky taster James Davie presented three whiskies to an attentive audience.

On the menu was a balvenie doublewood, bowmore and a surprise wee Scotch Malt Whisky Society single cask bottle that we had been impressed with.

After the whisky nosing, the guests enjoyed a time to network, as one of our reel time bartenders created some great whisky cocktails. A great way to enjoy Scottish hospitality.

The clients enjoyed their whisky tasting so much that they have rebooked for another event coming up later in the year. It is great to share our passion for our national drink.
